I would often get requests to download and convert videos from YouTube and other streaming sites while working in an agency. I created this frontend in C# for popular command line tool “Youtube-dl” so that non-tech savvy people around the office could easily download videos. This also allowed me to control the quality of the submissions that I could then convert and upload to the shares server server with ease. Creating the tool saved time with e-mail back and fourths, asking and sending links. The user could just send the downloaded video to my shares folder, I would then convert via watch folders, and finally send the converted file back to them and they would be notified via email that their file was done.
